Bhavana Kanagal – Candidate VP Academic

My name is Bhavana Kanagala and I’m currently a third year Physiology student. I am
running to be your ISSS Vice President Academic. I have been involved with ISSS since my second year in various capacities. I was a general volunteer and a member of the Awards Adjudication Committee in second year. This year I am the Director of Professional Development under the VP Academic portfolio. Both these positions helped me learn a lot about how ISSS operates and how it can be improved and marketed better to serve the student body more efficiently.

If elected as VP Academic, my main goal is to re-brand the Eureka journal into a Faculty
of Science-wide Research Day so students from various disciplines can showcase their research.
I’ll also work to plan more Professional Development workshops/conferences where students can get exposure to careers outside science academia and medical fields. Lastly, I hope to advocate for increased flexibility in Science programs. Please vote for me this upcoming election
from March 18-19.
