Hima Patel – Candidate VP Services
My name is Hima Patel and I am running to be your VP of Services at ISSS for the 2021-22 year. I am currently a third-year student in biology with a business minor. Over the past year, I have been an active volunteer with ISSS as a mentor with the Mini Study Group program over the term which was an incredible opportunity to develop my interpersonal skills.
With my background in business, I understand the importance of the ISSS’ services and aim to improve upon them! As your VP of Services, one of my main goals is to diversify and optimize the Used Book Sale to ensure you have more access to affordable study resources. I also hope to use the annual student handbook to increase awareness of a wider variety of volunteering opportunities so that students can explore a diversity of their interests within the science community. I further aim to increase engagement in the mentorship program to make it a more rewarding experience for both mentors and students.
